Ground was broken in 1996 for the construction of a luxury hotel on the cliffs overlooking Port Sóller, on the Balearic island of Mallorca. Work came to a halt in 1999. Construction resumed in 2009, after a suitable operator, the Jumeirah Group, had been found for the project. The hotel is nestled on the cliffs high above the Mediterranean Sea and offers exceptional views of the ocean, the Port Sóller harbor and the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range from its seven buildings and 17 offset levels.
